Miss Havisham’s Dream

About

Miss Havisham’s Dream toured to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Singapore and Stockton International Arts Festivals and Festivals in Belgium and Holland with Marguerite Pepper Productions and Gie Baguet’s Frans Brood Productions.

An extravagant violinist, a 10 foot bride, a groom on a bungy and an abseiling priest are Co. Theatre Physical’s Miss Havisham’s Dream. Surreal and humorous, it explores the imaginative dream-space of the jilted bride from Dicken’s Great Expectations… but… the priest is far too like a game show host, the waltzing groom has convulsions, the violinist is wonky and none of the guests will dance!

Reviews

“Athleticism combined with spectacular choreography has made Co. Theatre Physical’s production one of the most successful in the festival’s outdoor program.”

– Melbourne Age, 1995

“Miss Havisham’s Dream is working in imaginative territory… the work is acrobatics with attitude, performed with fierce abandon.”

– Australian, 1997

“Devised by Beth Kayes and skillfully directed by Carlos Gomes, the work was intensely physical, theatrically and culturally complex…”

– RealTime Australia, 1995
